Lately I have received a few e-mails about the September 11th sucker punch sneak attack that the Radical Muslims carried out against us, and turning the other cheek. As a Christian I certainly believe in turning the other cheek. I believe that it applies to our daily lives just as the other teachings of Jesus. Another part of these same passages says not to resist violence.

But I do not believe that Jesus meant that we should just lay down and let somebody kill us. Turning the other cheek when someone insults you or when someone threatens you, or even lays a hand on you is certainly the Christian thing to do when at all possible. But there are times when it’s time to stand up and defend ourselves, our families and our nation.

If someone breaks into your home with the intentions of raping your wife or harming your children, do you really believe that Jesus would want you stand passively by and let the intruder have his way? Would you take your bible and go kneel down and pray for the attacker while he is raping your wife or daughter? You would be sicker then he is if you even for one moment entertained that idea! As the spiritual head of your family God has placed YOU in charge of protecting and defending them. If you’re any kind of a man at all you’re going to jump out of bed and grab the first thing you can lay your hands on and take the scum bag apart. Just as you have a responsibility to be a spiritual leader of your family, you also have a responsibility to be the physical protector of your family.

I am the type of man that does not even want to hurt a mouse, but if I find an intruder in my home at night he will be found there in the morning! I have a nice shotgun that says he will! I believe that the same thing applies when it comes to our nation. We have been viciously attacked and violated beyond anything that can ever be described. Our very existence of the most benevolent nation on earth is at risk. Without America who would preach the gospel, who would feed the hungry, who would defend the weak, who would give home and shelter to those who seek freedom and a better way of life?

When other nations face tragedies such a floods, earthquakes, and natural disasters, who would rush in with billions of dollars in aid to help bring restoration? If not the United States of America, then who? The truth is that there is not another nation on earth powerful enough, rich enough and bountiful enough to take our place and very few who would be inclined to do so even if they were able to. Australia would love to but they are too small and just don't have the resources.

I am 100% patriotic but I am neither blind nor deaf to the problems and inequities we have in this country. Nor am I unsympathetic to them, but I’m sick to the point of throwing up of people who blame the deaths of six thousand of our citizens on the Bush administration. I also get angry every time I hear some Democratic Presidential candidate trashing President George Walker Bush for being a strong leader and defending our nation. How dare Al Sharpton call my President a "gang leader" during the Democratic presidential debates! How dare Sharpton, John Kerry, John Edwards, Howard Dean, and the rest of that ilk criticize my President for standing up for the land of the free and the home of the brave!

How dare the US Supreme Court give an insane interpretation of the law and bar the Ten Commandments from public places, and prayer in our schools! How dare them legalize perversion by striking down States laws that ban homosexual "marriages", paving the way to legalize same sex marriages!

When it comes to foreign policy we may not always do everything perfect, but it is us that is there when all these other nations need a friend! I know that our foreign policy has not always been cohesive, in fact, it was all but nonexistent in the Clinton years, but to say that, it justifies the murder of innocent people is too ridiculous to even go there.

Osama Bin Laden, the religion of Radical Islam, and their kind are the mortal enemy of all free men and their claim of doing their evil in the name of God is nothing more than a travesty. Their "god" Allah may advocate that type of behavior, but the God I serve doesn't advocate this kind of wickedness. They will only stop if they are forced to and that means hunting them down like the dirty rats that they are and taking them out, plain and simple.

We have to be the most hated nation on earth, yet we continue to send thousands of tons of food to the hungry. The most talked about nation on earth and yet we continue to export our medicine and medical expertise to a sick world. The most envied nation on earth and we open our arms to the world at large. This was proven recently when Iran, a member of the Axis Of Evil, suffered an earthquake where thousands died and the USA was the first nation to offer assistance, even though they hate us.

Peace is only preserved by great strength and the willingness to use it. Our beloved nation has been blessed with great strength and we must maintain the willingness to use it. ECC 3:8 "THERE IS A TIME FOR WAR AND A TIME FOR PEACE!"
